Hey ho peeps,
Just wanted to see if there's people out there having the same issues as me finding musos.

My band was gigging lots until COVID, all of a sudden, bam, can't find musicians.
I have advertised everywhere and still can't find the instruments.

I have even looked at going to duo so that I can get out and gig but even that is difficult.

Is it just me or are others finding this too.
I'm female, been the band leader since 2008 and I am lead vocals.

I am definitely not ready to give up the music scene.
Thoughts?

Good chat, ironically, perhaps this speaks directly to it.  ;D  ;D  ;D

Hi Jaqus,
                       yeah. Same prob!
Got my core band members since 2020, nothing since!

Had 4 keyboardists interest but none made it to a rehearsal!
They all seem really flaky!

We PREDICTED this would happen back 20/21: Most of the regular musos that were doing say the covers' circuit, gave it away during Covid era, and have NOT returned!
This seems to have happened!

There ARE lots of gigs out there, but no bands to fill them! Heard this numerous times in the past year or 2!
But it's ALL happening in the suburbs! The inner subs/CBD is a dead zone these days!

I just found these relaunched fora, (Aus and Mel) today while doing  a search to see if they were still going or relaunched!)
So there IS hope for us all!
Just keep on rockin'! \m/

doesn't seem too many places to search these days , maybe we should bring back JUKE , always had good bands on there.
................................just to be able to play an instrument with others is a blessing...........................

@Ziggy Moondust.
What the heck, how rude of me, I ghosted your response, I didnt realise I had one.
Keyboard players are in demand, they come and go. I have had some say, they will come to our rehearsals and observe. I mean, I know they are needed but an audition goes both ways.
On saying this, I have worked with some excellent players too pre-covid.

I cant seem to find one musician to even make it to a mutual jam at the moment, I cant recall being able to find a guitarist to fill in at the least amount of time in advance.

I miss the days when you could audition a few at a time :)

Yeah, ALL good! Reps comE  when they come !
Yeah the Keyers seem to like to LAUD it over the other musos!
GOT a nice, younger Indian lad playing with us now and he's rally doing a great job!
Just keep on rockin'! \m/
